So we all celebrated here at Olivia Place Ms Olivia’s Big Day this past weekend. Here is a peek at what her cake looked like (notice the bees match Olivia Place’s bees?)

Olivia decided she wasn’t really a smash your face into the cake sort of gal – she only gently ate bits and pieces of the cake and then allowed some friends to feed her.

And she can’t believe either that tomorrow marks the 3rd month of Olivia Place going live! In the last 3 months we have shipped a lot of orders, acquired close to 4500 fans on Facebook and are excited about all the new deals we are bringing you all.

In our next blog post, we want to introduce you to a very special member of the Olivia Place team – Melissa our Sales and Marketing Director. Melissa is headed to Haiti to do some volunteer work and we want to share with you what Olivia Place will be sending to her for her travels.

One year ago today, Ms Olivia came into this world and changed it. Olivia is an old soul with lots of love in her life.  Here are some photos of her from her first days:

It is hard to believe what a difference a year makes and what a little lady she has become. She does have a little sass at times but still what is not to love about Olivia (or Olivia Place):

And while Ms Olivia is asleep, her momma and others are beta testing some new features on the Olivia Place site. Olivia Place is a true blue start from scratch small business – no thrills, no huge VC coming in to offer us a million bucks to get this party started. We have the easy days and tough days too. Each day is a new challenge. but we enjoy it. That is what life is about.

We decided to start Olivia Place since we come from a family of bargain hunters. And everyone who works here loves a great deal.

Even though we are a small business, we have been able to find other small businesses who want to work with us to offer the deals we have. That is truly amazing. We have been able to secure a couple more exclusives for Olivia Place which we are really excited about!

But here is the reality. For every Yes we get, we probably had to hear 100 Nos. It wasn’t the right time for them to offer something, we couldn’t come to an agreement on price, they don’t have a need for a place like Olivia Place or they wanted to see our site up and running. All of that is fair. Baby steps. Baby steps. We are getting there. We have over 3000 fans on Facebook now. We almost have 2 months under our belt and know better what works for us; hence the need to beta test our site and make some cool improvements to it!

This is just a small glimpse into the day to day of Olivia Place. We will be back soon to tell you more about running a small business and the trials and triumphs of it.

Wow, has it almost been a month since Olivia Place has started? Yeah time flies when you are having fun! What a month it has been at Olivia Place!

We have done the following in the last month:

Packed and shipped out hundreds of orders.

Worked through some bugs in the Olivia Place system.

Sourced some cool new things. Sold some cool new things.

Done some testing for some cool promos we have coming up.

Are up to over 2600 fans on Facebook.

And it continues. We are learning a lot and having a great time at it.

We will be doing some behind the scenes look at running a start up retail business on Olivia Place’s blog. There is so much stuff that has to happen for something like this to work. Also if you follow the blog, you might occasionally see a freebie or coupon code here you won’t find elsewhere for Olivia Place so make sure you stay tuned!
